|| Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are often the backbone of economies – accounting for up to 45% of employment and 33% of GDP in emerging economies. They are also particularly vulnerable to the effects of climate change, with rippling impacts along international supply chains and entire economies.
Climate Expert, a new tool developed by the Deutsche Gesellschaft fuer Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, presents a 4-step approach to help businesses anticipate climate risks and design and implement strong adaptation strategies within their local context. This practical approach is complemented by a set of working materials that include case studies, company assessment templates, online courses, and direct access to experts with experience using the tool.
This webinar will discuss how SMEs can utilise the tool, as well as development agencies, consultants, and multipliers that want to support the private sector in adapting to climate change. It is jointly organized by the Green Growth Knowledge Partnership (GGKP) and the Green Growth Working Group (GGWG) of the Donor Committee for Enterprise Development (DCED).
