Description
|
The World Bank’s Energy Sector Management Assistance Program (ESMAP), the Climate Investment Funds (CIF), the UK Department for International Development (DFID), and the Ghana Ministry of Energy jointly invite you to a learning event in Accra, Ghana from Tuesday, June 25th to Friday, June 28th, 2019 on Achieving Universal Energy Access in Ghana and Upscaling Mini Grids for Low Cost and Timely Access to Electricity Services.
The event will highlight progress already made and opportunities and challenges ahead to reach Ghana’s goal of universal energy access by 2020. Ghana has already achieved 85% residential electricity access and hopes to go beyond universal access to become an energy exporter. This is also the fifth mini grid action learning event designed to facilitate investments in the sector as well as accelerate the deployment of mini grid systems. Participants will have an opportunity to learn more about some of the mini grid pilots in more remote areas and islands in Ghana, along with other plans for achieving universal access.
